New Identity and Access Management Web Apps
Welcome to the new Identity and Access Management site. In the past, you have probably used "UCSB Identity and Directory Services" to access Identity Manager, Directory Editor, and Reset Password. With this new, more secure Identity Management service, new versions of these web pages were created. They have a new look-and-feel and provide all the functionality of the former tools. Note: Please remember to log out of your session once you are done.
Find People
This replaces the former "People Finder". You can use this to look up the campus information of active faculty and staff, such as their phone number or department.
How do I use it?
Click Find People and log in using your UCSBnetID and password. A good way to search is by last name, but you can also search by email address, employee number, and other Identity attributes (see the options button). When you see the drop-down list of search results, click the correct person. Click "Home" to get back to the home page.
Manage Identity
This replaces the former "Identity Manager". Use this to activate a new UCSBnetID or reset a forgotten UCSBnetID password.
How do I use it?
Click on Manage Identity and click the button that matches your UCSB affiliation. Fill out the requested fields and click Next. Follow the instructions for the action you wish to take. Click "Home" to get back to the home page.
Profile and Settings
This replaces and combines the functionality of the former "Directory Editor" and "Change Password" options. You can use this to edit your own Identity information or change your UCSBnetID password if you remember your old one.
How do I use it?
Log in using your UCSBnetID and password. On the "Edit My Profile" tab, examine the information that Identity currently has for you. You can update some attributes like your primary department email address, secondary department email address, or personal information.
On the "Change Password" tab, update your UCSBnetID password by entering your current password and then a new password that meets the "Password strength" criteria. Click Update Password. Click "Home" to get back to the home page.
Departmental Directory Editors - Admin Tools
This replaces the functionality of the Directory Editor for Departmental Directory Editors (DDE's). DDE's can use the Admin Tools to edit their department's directory records. Those who are not DDE's can manage their own record using Profile and Settings.
How do I use it?
Click the Directory Editor button. Login using your UCSBnetID and password. Click the Admin Tools link (upper right corner). On the "Search Identity" tab, start typing the person's last name and select them from the drop down list. Under "Search Results", click the person's name to view and edit their Directory information. Once done, click the "Update Profile" button. Log out when done. Note: If you are not authorized to edit that person's directory information, you'll see an error message.
